What is Prompt Engineering?

Prompt engineering is the skill of writing clear, well-structured instructions that get reliable, high-quality results from an AI model.

Good prompts give the model context, a clear task, constraints and a desired format. Done well, prompting is the difference between a generic answer and a genuinely useful one.

It's the single highest-leverage AI skill for most professionals, which is why hands-on prompting is core to every kenai workshop and bootcamp.
